Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FoundryVTT Online (the "Service"), a hosting platform for Foundry Virtual Tabletop operated by us ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

FoundryVTT Online provides cloud hosting for Foundry Virtual Tabletop instances. We provision isolated containers, persistent storage, SFTP access, and automated backups. We do not provide the Foundry VTT software itself.You must own a valid Foundry VTT license from Foundry Gaming, LLC, purchased separately from foundryvtt.com.

2. Account Registration

You must sign in via Google OAuth to use the Service. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Google account
  • Providing a valid Foundry VTT license key when prompted
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Keeping your contact email current

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

  • Host, store, or distribute illegal content
  • Violate intellectual property rights, including pirated game assets or modules
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data
  • Abuse, harass, or threaten other users
  • Engage in cryptocurrency mining or other CPU-abusive activities
  • Resell or sublicense your hosted instance to third parties as a hosting service
  • Circumvent plan limits, security measures, or rate limits

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund.

4. Foundry VTT License Compliance

You are solely responsible for complying with the Foundry VTT End User License Agreement. We do not verify license ownership and are not responsible for license compliance issues between you and Foundry Gaming, LLC.

5. Payment and Billing

5.1 Subscription Fees

Access to the Service requires a paid subscription. Current pricing is displayed on our Plans page. Fees are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis.

5.2 Automatic Renewal

Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel. You authorize us (via Stripe or PayPal) to charge your payment method at each renewal.

5.3 Price Changes

We may change pricing at any time. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price increase takes effect.

5.4 Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry via our payment processor. After repeated failures, your server may be suspended and your subscription cancelled.

6. Storage Limits

Each plan includes a storage quota. When you exceed your quota, you will not be able to start your server until you either delete files (via SFTP) or upgrade to a higher plan. You remain responsible for managing your storage usage.

7. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Your server is designed to auto-shutdown during idle periods to save resources; this is a feature, not a defect. Scheduled maintenance or unforeseen outages may occur.

8. Backups

We perform automated backups according to your plan. While we take reasonable care, we strongly recommend you maintain your own backups of critical world data. We are not liable for data loss.

9. Termination

9.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your data is retained for 30 days after cancellation.

9.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees, or engage in activity that threatens our infrastructure or other users.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law
